We at PSQ have recognised the need of
many companies to almost "try before you buy" when it comes to
measuring the performance of an organisation and comparing it to
World Class standards.
For this reason we have developed, as
part of our own Continuous Improvement Philosophy, a compact version
of our COMPETE© methodology. Instead of a 5 to 10 day programme
this takes only one man day. Obviously it does not go into the
detail of the full programme but will give a rapid feedback to the
organisation and will highlight certain basic weaknesses should
these exist in the organisation.
After a short session with
senior management we shall select some 3-6 members of staff to
participate and these staff will each receive a short questionnaire
(less than three pages) to complete. These will be collected the
following day, evaluated by our consultant and then followed up with
short (30 minute) interviews. The questions asked will be the same
for all and consist of a set of "control" questions that home in
on:
known weaknesses in organisations
areas of concern for
aspiring World Class companies
areas identified by
us as being of importance for any well managed
organisation
The results of this process are then tabulated,
examined and evaluated. A short, bullet form report is produced
and presented to the original management group for discussion. The
next step is likely then to be a full review or else a focused
project to tackle an area of significant concern shown up in this
COMPETE LIGHT© review.
