Eric Warner

Eric is a chartered accountant, CA (SA), having qualified while still under articles.
He also has both CPIM and CSCP qualifications from APICS and is also a SAQA assessor.
Since 1990 he has run his own business consultancy, MASC Associates, offering business management, performance measurement, manufacturing and financial management advice to a wide range of clients. Over the last 20 years he has consulted to over 100 organisations ranging from multinational corporations to sole traders.

Prior to setting up his own business Eric had been involved as Systems Controller for a diamond mine, running everything from the department store, through Engineering control, Production Control, the Mine Store (over 70 000 line items) to the airport and a CIA level security system. After that he was Systems Development Manager for a Stainless Steel Mill where he was responsible for the implementation of the CPIM programme and was developing a Theory of Constraints model before there was even a name for the concept!

After a two year period as a principal consultant for one of the major international practices he was poached by a client to become their group manufacturing consultant. He had up to 57 companies reporting in to him. During this period he was responsible for many successful MRPII implementations as well as for introducing CPIM education to a number of group companies.

In 1990 he returned to Cape Town as director of another international consultancy but again was approached to join a manufacturing client as General Manager although still maintaining his own practice. When he decided to break away from the client he developed his own practice to where it is today, serving over 60 clients consistently.
He has also served on the board of SAPICS as well as being a member of the local committee for almost 20 years. Among other assignments, he is actively responsible for the development and distribution of the compete© productivity assessment programme.

He is widely experienced in the production environment having been involved as systems development manager, production manager and general manager as well as internal manufacturing consultant to a wide variety of companies.
Eric has spoken at several international conferences on subjects ranging from Computer Integrated Manufacturing to Performance Measurement. He also lectures in Manufacturing subjects for the CPIM qualification (he is a member of the APICS lecturers programme) and has guest lectured at UCT as well as running many MRPII courses. Eric has also spoken at a number of local conferences and seminars. He is responsible for business and strategic planning as well as many aspects of Production and Inventory Management as well as financial planning, budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
