For the last 16 years Ken has run his own
business, Kent Outsourcing Services cc, providing consulting and
education in operations and supply chain management. Over this
period he has worked with close to 150 companies throughout Southern
Africa and has recently presented seminars in India, France, Dubai
and Saudi Arabia.

both SAPICS and APICS.
Ken has been involved for many years at both at the Cape Town
Chapter level as well as national level of SAPICS, the Association
for Operation Management in Southern Africa. He held the position of
national President of SAPICS during the 1999/2000 period and again
from 2006 to 2009. Ken has been a regular contributor of papers and
workshops at the annual SAPICS International Conference and
Exhibition. He is currently a Board Member of SAPICS.
Prior to running his own business, Ken worked in the ERP software
industry for two years selling and implementing ERP systems.
Other industries in which Ken has worked are Engineering
Plastics, Plastic Packaging, Metal Packaging, Glass Packaging as
well as the Automotive Engine Components and Materials Handling
Conveyer industries.
Ken started his career as a craft apprentice after leaving
Grammar School in the UK, studying for his Higher National Diploma
in Mechanical Engineering and later transferring to a student
apprenticeship to study for an Honours Degree in Production
Engineering and Management at Loughborough University.
He
travelled to South Africa in 1974 and has lived and worked here ever
since. In the late '80's Ken took a position as project leader on a
successful MRP II (ERP) implementation and during this time studied
for his CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) from
APICS in the USA. A couple of years later he was awarded the
Fellowship level certification, CFPIM, after presenting many of the
APICS educational programs and publishing and presenting papers at
the annual SAPICS International Conference and Exhibition. Recently,
Ken has received his CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
qualification from APICS, a CPF (Certified Professional Forecaster)
qualification from the IBF in the USA as well as his SCOR-P
qualification from the Supply Chain Council in the USA.
